FULL TIME

 
Communications Coordinator
 
Duties and
Responsibilities:
· Creates, organizes, plans, implements and measures effective communication messages and strategies to church and community audiences;
· Ensures excellence in accuracy, design, layout and ease of use for website, social media, print media, signage, direct mail and video media;
· Coordinates with appropriate staff to manage all aspects of the church’s website, to improve the effectiveness of web related communication with all ministries, so that there is an effective presence on the web and in social media;
· Is proactive in seeking stories of life-change within the church; develops ways to creatively communicate these stories via video, SHPC website and other media, including video and print;
· Works with church and ministry leaders to connect SHPC with the wider community through creative partnerships, programs, events, etc. that will broaden the reach of the SHPC vision; works with communication associated with SHPC classes, events, etc. via Realm and Zoom
· Assumes responsibility for departmental budgets, including regular monitoring and reporting the Finance Administrator and session; hart;
· Submits Ministry reports for staff meetings and session meetings;
 
Minimum Education
And Experience Required:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field, plus three years of experience in an environment where written communications, team building, and creative and strategic planning were required.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Knowledge of principles and practices of communications management;
· Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications;
· Excellent skills in writing, editing and verbal communication;
· Ability to demonstrate professionalism, emotional maturity and stability;
· Ability to work well, collaborate and cooperate with staff, session, committees and church membership;
· Ability to supervise and train assigned staff/volunteers, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments;
· Ability to maintain professional work attitude, and to be organized, punctual, pressure tolerant, and dependable in meeting deadlines and goals;
· Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative;
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
• Basic graphic design skills; can create graphics for events/classes/etc. (adobe spark or similar preferred);
• Basic web design skills; can update website and keep website well-organized, attractive, and easy to use. No HTML or coding knowledge needed;
• Basic videography skills with an emphasis on video editing (adobe premiere or similar preferred)

PART TIME

Weekday Preschool Substitutes
 
Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church Preschool is hiring for several substitute positions for the school year. Applicants must have experience with young children and a high school degree or equivalent. The preschool meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am-1:30 pm. Child Care Professionals
 
Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church is looking for experienced child care professionals to provide care for nursery and preschool age children during Sunday morning worship, and regularly scheduled classes and events on weekday mornings, evenings, and occasionally Friday or Saturday nights. Flexible shifts are available.
Work opportunities will be held at the William Cannon campus in South Austin.
 
The right candidate will meet the following criteria:
-Experience working in and an understanding of developmentally appropriate early childhood settings
 
-A love of children & building relationships with families in a Christian environment
 
-Energetic & positive demeanor
 
-Outstanding written & verbal communication skills
 
-Neat, professional appearance
 
-Reliable transportation
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred upon application. However, SHPC will provide training for otherwise qualified applicants
