2021 Souper Bowl of Caring
Presbytery Goal: 100,000 Cans
$1 = 2 Cans

The 2021 Souper Bowl of Caring is underway!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will only be accepting monetary donations this year, and $1 = 2 cans of food. Mission Presbytery has a goal of 100,000 cans, so let’s do our part. And we can recapture our championship and win the Mission Presbytery Souper Bowl Smack Down, the friendly competition between all of the churches participating! So let’s do this SHPC!

The Grown-Up’s Guide to Teenage Humans lays out unflinchingly practical ways to make a difference in a teen’s life. As Shipp reminds us, raising a respectable adult comes down to investing in teens and giving them the boundaries, time, and support they need to thrive.
And that means every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.

In So You Want to Talk About Race, Ijeoma Oluo guides readers of all races through subjects ranging from intersectionality and affirmative action to “model minorities” in an attempt to make the seemingly impossible possible: honest conversations about race and racism, and how they infect almost every aspect of American life.

CURRENT SERIES

Big Questions
January 24 & 31

In this two part series we will first discuss God’s goal for humanity, the biblical idea of good and evil (i.e. not just “this stuff is bad cause God said so”), and the contagious nature of selfishness. In the second part we will look into the idea of “Sin” itself, the underlying idea of us trying to seek satisfaction on our own terms (“be our own gods”) and how that regularly leads to failure and the world we live in.

Why do serve in youth ministry?
When I was in High School I had several leaders who engaged with me in deep discussion and strengthened my appreciation for who I was and how I was meant to pursue God. I want to be able to give that back to other people.
