INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS

Mission work is part of our DNA, and there are so many ways to spread the good news of Jesus and help people all over the world. We do this by partnering with life-giving organizations, supporting full-time missionaries, and by being the hands and feet of Jesus and traveling to do mission work abroad. Below are some of the ways we are working to further God’s kingdom around the globe. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor.

Love 146 and the International Justice Mission are organizations that help fight in the global war on human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation, and other crimes against humanity. The mission committee votes on the amount of funds to send each year. For more information on the Bible’s call for justice, read Nicolas D. Kristof’s book: Half the Sky.

THE CONGO

For the past 27 years we have supported the Good Shepherd Hospital through the Medical Benevolence Foundation. The mission committe votes annually on the amount to send to the hospital. Sarah Stranahan visits the hospital every other year when she is in Congo for other mission activities. The last trip was June 2013.

PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER ASSISTANCE

When there is an international disaster we want to be able to respond immediately. A portion of the mission budget is earmarked so we can send funds promptly to a responsible agency like the Red Cross, World Vision, or Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

Each year the mission committee responds to worldwide and stateside disasters by voting on how much to send and where to send funds each year.
