The Gospel of Mark Manuscript Study

Beginning on January 9th and each Wednesday this semester we hope you will join Larry Coulter as we dig into the Gospel of Mark. As we study this fast-paced gospel, we will be learning a Bible study method called a "manuscript study."

What is a manuscript study? A manuscript study is a technique using a copy of a biblical passage with no chapter divisions or paragraph divisions. The page layout has no editorial comment, textual notes, cross-references, or other things that may pre-dispose us to look at the Bible through someone else's "eyes." We will focus upon the text itself. Armed with high-lighters, pens, or multi-colored felt tip markers, we will highlight, underline, draw circles and boxes, bracket, draw arrows—often reaching rather advanced stages of art! We will color-code different things we find significant and learn together about this marvelous book. Come try out this fun way to learn God's truth.
