Adult Ministries
Mission statement:
The Adult Ministries Committee equips adult members of the
congregation to grow as Christian disciples, enabling them to minister more effectively to
others.
Statement of
Purpose
We want our members to not only lead informed
lives but also transformed lives.
We attempt to do
this in several ways:
-
We offer
classes that focus on a shared knowledge and understanding of
the
Bible
and its connection to our lives.
-
We provide
religious education experiences that promote personal spiritual
growth.
-
We offer
classes that emphasize application of Christian principles to
daily life, e.g., parenting, marriage, finance.
-
We maintain
a library of resources to support our education programs and to
encourage our members to continue searching for deeper knowledge
and ways to apply it to their lives.

One of the most basic tenets of the
New Testament is that it is belief in and profession of Jesus Christ
as God's Son and our Savior that leads us to eternal life. In fact,
the "fish" that is still seen on many Christians' cars today was
chosen as the earliest symbol of Christianity, even before the
cross, because in Greek it is an acronym for "Jesus Christ, God's
Son, Savior." The New Testament promises not only the future of an
eternal life but also it tells us that abundant life begins right
now, in this world, as we choose to walk with Christ in our daily
lives.
During the
year we will also offer classes led by our seminarians and guest
speakers, as well as special events. Watch the newsletter and
weekly announcements for programming information.
